First off, I'm in Korea next month and since I'll be leaving Texass, land of the B-1 Bomber, it's only fitting I should change my nickname :)
I can't believe it; I left the damned ignition on. Hit the kill switch and jumped off the bike, forgetting to take the @#$%!*& keys, like it was absolutely normal!! The next day, of course, ignition still on, dead as a doornail. I felt like such an ass. Waited 2 hours to get a jump (I weigh 125# soaking wet...pushing was exhausting and pointless), let it idle for about 10 minutes, and rode around for a while, thinking I'd be good to go. NOPE! First place I stopped, battery was still tits up (no offense). After jump #2, I rode for 30 minutes, did 2 laps around town, 35-65 mph...thought that surely that did the trick. After all, neutral light and flashers were bright and steady. NOPE! At least she died at the coffee shop. Jump #3 and home again, when I FINALLY think to check the fluid levels in the battery. duhhhhhhhh All cells were right at, if not below the water line. Refilled battery, and now waiting on jump #4...or a battery charger, whichever comes first.
Jon, add this one to your tips and tricks section:

> Attach a bungee cord from the keyring to your belt buckle. That way, if you leave your bike with the keys in the ignition, you won't go far. You'll either come to a gentle halt, or get a sharp THWAP in the ass for forgetting your keys!

*sigh*

Special thanks to Jennifer, wayyyyy down on 5-14-99 for being the first to admit the error of their ways...additional thanks to Richard, for the jump-start "how-to"!

Joel
